The San Marcos Civic Foundation is committed to serving the needs of dyslexic students in Central Texas.
GRANT PROGRAMS
SMCF places special emphasis on the training for teachers in multi-sensory, phonetic, sequential, linguistic, meaning based programs.
Grants are made to public schools and non-profit organizations which are tax exempt under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and to educators seeking assistance in training for programs related to dyslexia.
SMCF prefers NOT to fund:
Grants are distributed throughout Central Texas with a focus on Hays County, the grants must be in line with the primary focus of SMCF which is teacher training and education in the area of dyslexia. Any grant applicant must be willing to allow Foundation trustees to discuss the grant and provide any information which is pertinent to improving the projects which SMCF supports.

- Galas or gala-like events, fundraising events, and advertising in similar fundraising activities.
- Activities whose sole purpose or support of religious, denominations or churches.
- Purchases of supplies, computer equipment/programs or salaries
- Memorials for individuals
- Capital Campaigns
